Sabrina Carpenter began her 2024-2025 tour, Short n’ Sweet, on Sept. 23rd, and will conclude on Mar. 26, 2025, allowing fans multiple chances to see her live in New York, Boston, Florida, and Canada.
Carpenter sings all of the songs from her newest album, Short n’ Sweet. She starts her concerts with “Taste” and ends with her most popular song, “Espresso.” On her stops, Carpenter has made a new tour tradition to perform a surprise cover song. She has a cardboard cutout of different songs and spins a bottle to decide which song she will sing for the crowd. Sophomore Chloe Shuch states, “I think that’s so cool, and it’s super on theme for her! Her old dolly style of music and outfits [allows people] to see [the] new changes in her tones and vocal cords…”
Carpenter also decided to get rid of all the outros in her songs. During her last tours, she would use her song “Nonsense” to create a catchy outro for wherever she was performing but stopped doing it.
This change is controversial for most of her fans. Many followers don’t mind the removal of her outros because she has added other festivities to her tours to fill in that missing spot. On the other hand, others believe that it isn’t the same without her famous last verses.
Sophomore Lyla Masson comments, “We all love Sabrina Carpenter, but when she changes her tour, it makes it less unique. I don’t agree with this change because the outros make the fans from different cities feel special having their very own specified outro.”
As her tour increases in popularity on TikTok, one moment continues to pop up about her concert: her goodbye or thank you video. At the end of each event, Carpenter turns on a prerecorded video of her months earlier saying, “Thank you,” and to “drive home safely.”
During this video, she makes jokes like, “Make sure to check out the merch on your way out” and “There’s a lot of merch, or maybe there isn’t, maybe it’s sold out. I don’t know, I made this months ago!” This closing message brings laughter to her fans and is one of the many highlights of the tour.
In the end, Carpenter’s fans say that, despite the changes made to her concert, they thoroughly enjoyed the concert and would recommend going. Carpenter had a breakthrough this year in her career and will continue to have one as the year and her tour, come to an end.
