Charter’s First Priority club held its first Invite Week of the year last Wednesday, September 25th. The club essentially welcomed students to come together for fellowship, prayer, and community. The event aimed to create a supportive environment for students looking to explore their faith and connect with others. Based off the club’s success, here’s what Charter had to say about their experiences:
“The key message I learned from my first Invite Week is that it isn’t too late to give your life and trust to God, because one day we’re all going to leave this Earth and we can choose to have eternal happiness with God by following his word or we could take the negative route.”
-Adrianna Caldswell, junior
“Even before we got to the meeting, the guest speaker was greeting everyone outside the building, getting to know everyone and making connections with them. First Priority makes me feel as if I’m not judged for being a Christian. I can speak my truth and hear God’s word without anyone judging.”
-Annie Jimenez, sophomore
“[Invite Week] helps [by] introducing new people to First Priority and builds connections within the club. Last week, our guest speaker gave us his testimony and talked about how once you know God, he can never be taken from you.”
– Hannah Flores, senior, First Priority Co-President
“In a world gripped by anxiety and depression, students are searching for hope. So many are hurting, lonely, anxious, and afraid. My hope is that our Invite Week helped students realize that hope and peace can be found in accepting Jesus Christ. Mentorship is absolutely essential for spiritual growth. This is why we highly encourage church attendance and mentorship at First Priority.”
-Adriel Gonzalez, First Priority mentor
“I feel that Invite Week is one of our most impactful weeks, because it allows new people to join the club and know what we are about, as well as continue to go to our meetings and dive deeper into who God is and what He provides to the world. Some key messages and themes that were shared during Invite Week were how anyone can connect to the Lord, no matter their background.”
-Ava Mendez, senior, First Priority Co-President
