The Pembroke Pines Charter High School junior varsity (JV) football team kicked off on Wednesday, September 4th. This home opener ended with a nail-biting win against Cypress Bay Lighting with the Jaguars taking the 15-14 win. This made them undefeated with a record of (1-0).
The JV Jags are eager to maintain this momentum, while aiming to achieve the main goal; becoming undefeated this season, especially after ending the previous season with a record of (2-3).
Sophomore linebacker Max Callegari emphasized that “…even though we have a record of (1-0), we need to stay locked in to keep this momentum going, while bringing the winning mentality and energy to every game.”
Sophomore linebacker Amari Lumpkin, described the game as an “…uphill battle that could have been lost at any moment if the team gave up.”
The Jags were planning on heading up to South Plantation High School on Wednesday, September 11, while being eager for possibly having a repeat of last season’s win against (15-12). This game would have been their second game of the season, yet it got canceled due to weather conditions.
Looking ahead, the Jaguars are preparing for their next game which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, at Coral Springs High School. The Jags are eager to continue the winning power.
With high hopes for this season, the PPCHS JV football team is on the right track to striving.
