From hot dinner tables filled with food to orange and brown leaves falling from trees, it is only time until people realize that fall has begun. At Charter, autumn is a popular season amongst the student body for its aesthetics and seasonal movies. So as the season starts, here are some of Charter student’s favorite fall films:
“I really love the movie Coraline. Although it seems to have a more Halloween vibe, I feel like the movie never gets old no matter how many times you watch it. Everything in the movie is perfectly designed, and it’s so much deeper than a regular movie.” — Samhita Palle, Freshman
“I enjoy watching Coco because of the cultural influence and the magical music that [takes] me into a new world. The characters are made very uniquely and look cool. I also love the design of the dog, Dante.” — Noah Mercado, Freshman
“I like how A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a heartwarming story [about] Charlie Brown trying to host a Thanksgiving [dinner] with his friends; it seems very sweet. [It’s] about the journey he takes to properly make a nice Thanksgiving [dinner] that he and his friends can enjoy.” — Sebastian Mena, Sophomore
“One of my favorite autumn movies has to be Under The Autumn Moon because it’s about this man who lives on a ranch and this woman who, soon after meeting him, realizes how much she loves the outdoors. Eventually, it becomes a love story because he shows her the aspect of nature and wildlife.” — Connor Geskus, Sophomore
“One of my favorite fall movies has to be Coco since how their family is built reminds me of my own. I especially like the scene where Miguel gets a plate overflowing with tamales and his grandma spoils and protects him.” — Emmanuel Zambrano, Sophomore
“I adore the movie called October Kiss because it’s a cute movie about a woman finding ‘her thing,’ becomes a nanny to a family, and brings them closer together.” — Mariella Plaza, Sophomore
“I like Coco because of its visuals, it fits into the fall themes because of the orange leaves, and more. It’s a very emotional story about other cultures and traditions that are celebrated.”–– Daniel Shams, Sophomore
“I like watching Son in Law because it is set in autumn and shows the time [period] between a farm girl meeting and falling in love with a man from the city where she visited for Thanksgiving break. It’s a really sweet and cute movie, and I like how it blends in with autumn.” — Zyra Rodriguez, Junior
