After hearing the 2 o’clock bell, the drama club headed into senior square to set up for their annual bake sale. From arrays of donuts, to cupcakes, and cookies, all the students gathered around to indulge in a sweet after school snack. Given their successful turnout, the drama club will continue to host these bake sales throughout the year for everyone to enjoy.
“Bake sales are generally one of the best ways for clubs to make a lot of their funding. Last year we did a bake sale in the first semester, which helped our funding a lot. We really need that same funding this year. Especially for the things that we want to do, like Winter Fantasy and our show at the end of the year.” – Sofia Romero, Drama Department President
“I am definitely hyped up for the bake sale. It was run by the students, so it’s exciting to watch them handle it, and bring about such a great turnout. This Drama Club already feels much different than when I was here, and I’m excited for all the new things that are going to happen.” – Jessica Sanford, club sponsor
“I’m hoping we can get a good amount of funds. I know that compared to certain bake sales, we don’t have as much of a crowd as others, but I think we can get a good amount. This bake sale has been in preparation for a little while, with the post and the banner.” – Nina Martinez, Drama Club President
”It’s my first event as an officer and I get to help out and work as a team with the other officers. I think bake sales are a good way to attract students because when you host a bake sale, a lot of people after school are really hungry and want to eat. When we raise money we can put on more elaborate productions, help get costumes, set pieces, and other elements that make our stage shine.” – Krystal Elliot, Historian
“I’ve done a couple bake sales myself for the cross-country team and everything. I think it really helps because people find out about the club and everything. I just wish we could do them during school. Everyone needs a little sugar during the school day.” – Alejandro De Bastos, senior
“To be honest I love drama club in general. It is so fun, and this funding they’re doing is just really important. I think everyone should try drama at least once because there are so many people you can meet and I think [I have even] met some of my best friends [from] drama.” – Ayana Russell, junior
“I loved baked goods. I found out about the bake sale in class and I was stoked. This bake sale is so good because it has such a great selection of treats. In my opinion, baked food is the best type of food, [so when] I saw some Oreo cookies I was so happy because those are my favorite.” – Madeline Albear, junior
