In a heartfelt ballad collaboration, Grammy award-winning stars Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars once again captivated the media with their newest single, ‘‘Die With A Smile.” The two sang together on the 15th, debuting their latest release live at Mars’ concert. The pop stars took a bow that Thursday, ready to take the charts by storm as a billboard hit.
Within days of its release, “Die With A Smile” skyrocketed on music charts worldwide. Currently, the single is seven in the UK’s top 100. The single also gained 3.52 million streams on August 19th. According to Billboard, this number will increase, as thousands of people have purchased the song digitally in its first four days.
Despite the single’s increasing success, it can be noted that the music video is currently surging as well. The video is now at 26 million views on YouTube and tops #3 on the platform’s trending category overall. The renowned pop stars had fun creating the video for it. In the scene of a retro TV studio, Gaga and Mars graced the premises with their stunning apparel, tailored by 7thbone artist, Ashley Eva Brock. Gaga wore an AZURE mini dress over red tights and pumps. To match, Mars wore a two-piece suit in the same shade, layering over a red polo. The two flawlessly channeled an old-fashioned western duo, as Mars rocked a cowboy hat and Gaga stunned in a dolly-parton style wig. There was no short creative timeliness, considering the rise of country music on the charts this year.
Throughout the video, the two are singing across one another. Gaga plays the piano while Mars rocks the guitar. By the end, they eventually stand together, moving into an energetic yet graceful jive. Although the two never hold physical/intimate contact throughout the video, they lock eyes lovingly at the end to resemble an old-fashioned singer couple who’s grown fond of one another.
The current success of this duet is just a fraction of what fans have next in store for them. Both Gaga and Mars have big projects planned in the following years. Fans of Gaga anticipate the release of her theatrical performance as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux (October 4th). Gaga has also teased her newest upcoming album, LG7, on social media.
Mars on the other hand has recently spent time in Mexico, teasing a Spanish sound to the public. As the years progress, it seems that Mars is most inclined to continue touring across the globe, as he has many tour dates planned into 2025.
