As soon as you enter the Marriott Harbor Beach hotel, one is confronted with the breathtaking ocean view and outdoor hotel venue filled with Charter students seen in some of the most gorgeous dresses, and flashy suits. In almost an instant, you’re met with a cheerfulness and joy exuding from each and every person, as they celebrate the end of their senior year and high school careers.
The night started off with a photo op. Students were seen posing by the beach with their friends, family, and dates, seizing every opportunity to take as many pictures as possible to truly capture how special this night was. These pictures were more than just that. They’re memories that people will be able to look back on and reminisce about.
Following the entrance of the indoor venue, it felt as if the entire class of 2024 became one. Students were enjoying themselves and dancing, as the Dj blasted music from his booth setting the energy which then completely flooded the room. Mosh pits formed all over the dance floor as students sang “Dreams and Nightmares” by Meek Mill and “Mo Bamba” by Sheck Wes in unison. It’s hard to captivate the night the way it should be; there are only so many words that could be used to describe the emotion, passion, and euphoric aura that seemed to radiate out of the Marriott Harbor Beach hotel that night.
However, with the seniors leaving Charter and moving on with their lives, we’ll let them share their experiences.
“The partying was extreme; we were all sweating our butts off. They were constantly blasting good music throughout the whole night, overall it was an absolute peak night and I had a great time.”- Christian Bruney, Senior
“The venue was really nice. It was just fun being able to take pictures with everyone with the ocean view. Prom itself was also really fun, the class did a great job of decorating and making sure we all had a great time. That night symbolized our last event as a Charter student and as a class because we might not see everyone again so it was good to be together and have one last good time.”- Juliette Montes, Senior
“I usually stay around my friend group and hang out with them, but for prom I let it go and I had a great time. We all came together and were dancing, just having fun, it felt like we all became closer that day even to people i’d never met before.” – Isabella Duran, Senior
“I loved my prom experience, I had a great time dancing with my friends and having fun. It’s sad that this is going to be the last fun thing we do together, and I’m just going to miss everybody here.”- Kaelyn Edwards, Senior
“Prom was absolutely amazing, but the after party was even better. Just going out with everybody and having a great time together is something that I will cherish, especially since after summer we all will be leaving off to college. So it was just a great experience.” –Anaya Fink, Senior
“It was good to be with all the boys during prom, our energy was bouncing off of each other and we were like the life of the party, trying to get as many people engaged and to have a great prom experience because it’s the only one you get.” – Anthony Suarez, Senior
