As the end of the year is fast approaching, it leads to many new changes before the school year is over. This is most remarkable for the class of 2025 as their senior year is just around the corner. Junior year has been a year of growth and experience for these students as that helps to prepare them for their last year at Charter. Although this exciting year has been well awaited, having to close another chapter of high school has left the junior class with mixed emotions. So here is what next year’s seniors have to say:
“I’m not entirely ready for change. The thought that I’m no longer going to be a child anymore but an adult still shocks me. I will probably miss my Marine science class the most. It was so interesting and fun and I had amazing friends in that class as well. I hope I get classes with them again!”- Amanda Rojas, Junior
“I want to have fun next year and enjoy my last time here. I will probably go to more events and volunteer when I can. I’m also jotting down senior prank ideas in my spare time. If I can pull that off and maintain my grades then I’ll be happier than ever!”- Marcus Riley, Junior
“I think the difference between the transition to becoming a senior compared to other years is the fact that after next year, I’ll be moving onto another chapter of my life and I’ll be leaving this one behind. Which is a little scary to me, the transitions between other years didn’t feel much different because the realization that you’re growing up doesn’t hit you until you’re decorating your crown for senior step up day.”- Andre Arana, Junior
“I personally have experienced senior year twice due to being very close with them my sophomore and junior year, so most events and steps I have experienced secondhand. I think this not only prepared me for mine but set a different standard for how I’m going to get through my year and helped me get on track and prepare to take on this beast of a year.”- Mckenna Gregory, Junior
“It’s a big step going from being used to having the same routine of taking care of school and messing around with friends to working on getting your license and picking out colleges to apply to. I’ve been reflecting on my time from freshman year to now a lot lately with this change. That includes friends I’ve gained and lost, my physical appearance, interests, etc. I’m definitely looking forward to senior year nonetheless. All sorts of things can happen between now and graduation but I’m hopeful for what the future as a senior will bring.”- Natalia Pegg, Junior
