Each year, on the first Monday of May, fans from all over the world eagerly tune in to watch “fashion’s biggest night out.” The Met Gala has become a grand exhibition of fashion and artistry through avant-garde looks from top designers. This year, florals and earthy colors took center stage on the green carpet to honor the “Garden of Time” dress code. Many captivating looks made their way up the Met stairs, but here are some of Charter’s favorites:
“[I loved] Laufey’s look. I feel like her dress was designed perfectly to fit her aesthetic and who she is as a whole. While I loved everyone else’s designs, this one stuck out to me the most!” – Madison Jules, sophomore
“My favorite Met Gala look was Mona Patel’s. I found her dress [especially] stunning because of the animatronic butterflies she had along her arms. Her entire dress was very well detailed and was overall beautiful.” – Kayla Carrasco, junior
“My favorite look was Tyla’s because of the way she referenced the passing of time to align with the theme.” – Hannah Flores, junior
“My favorite [look] has to be Tyla’s. I loved the sand dress she had on, and I especially liked the hourglass purse she had with her. I feel like the idea of the sands of time really went well with the theme of Garden of Time, and her dress was not only so pretty and fit her beautifully, but it also greatly embodied the ‘time’ aspect of the theme.” – Ava Mendez, junior
“I think my favorite look at the Met Gala was Sydney Sweeney’s because I just adored the baby blue color of her dress with themed flowers on it. It was a stunning dress. The one sleeve hanging on the side and the black gloves really added a nice touch to it.” – Katheline Reyes, senior
“I really liked Elle Fanning’s look! She’s one of my favorite actresses, and I think her dress fit the theme so well, and she looked beautiful.” – Juliette Montes, senior
