As January ends and February starts, the world marks the beginning of Black History Month. At PPCHS, it has been a tradition to decorate the doors of numerous classrooms. It is common for students to equip their creativity and handle the task of decorating their teacher’s door; several designs have adorned the doors of several teachers’ classrooms.
Teachers such as Mrs. Altimore, Mr. Fagen, and Mr. Harris have plastered colorful papers and pictures of many significant figures in the Black community with informational facts included. Although February has ended, supporting these notable people won’t end.
For years, these doors have been a fan favorite of many students at Charter. However, which one was the students’ favorite?
“I like the doors, I think they’re appropriate. I like that one of the classrooms on the door has actual facts on it too, so I really appreciate that it’s not just for show, and it actually gives you information on what the person did, what breakthroughs they made for the black community.” –Alexio Hendfield, senior
“I saw Mrs. Altimore’s, and it was cute! For my favorite I’d definitely have to say Mrs. Altimores.” –Robertzsa Joseph, sophomore
“They’re nice and I love them, go Jags. Dr. Phillips door is my favorite.”-Dominique Balli, senior
“I think all of the doors are wonderful!” –Sneha Mathews, sophomore

I loved when I walked around and saw the doors. They were unique, and it’s different from the usual banal look of the hallways and doors.
