Walking into “Jaguar” territory the real Jaguars walked out with all 3 wins over Coral Glades’ basketball team. The Jaguars truly showed out that night, taking those teal, white, and black colors and turning them over to Jaguar maroon. The triple header ended with a 40-36 JV win, a Girls’ varsity 53-24 win, and a dominating 87-63 win from our varsity Jags.
In a dominating win, Joshua (Joshie) Harris exceeded 35 points. Balling out all with smart rebounds, he recalls, “It felt good to get those points, but the end goal is to win states; I just need to help my team win more and more games.” Just this week, Joshie has broken both of his high school records. This past Monday against St. Thomas he made a total of 28 points almost topping his record at the time of 29 points. But last night, Harris surpassed those with 35 points to close out another victory for the Jaguars.
Bringing energetic plays onto the court with creative dunks, “I wanted to get my get back,” said senior Ramez Zayed, a transfer from Coral Glades. “Like always, we have to win, but this one’s different.”
Not even a month into basketball season, all the Jaguar teams are excelling, making this season a must watch. From smart game plays to amazing steals, the Jags are dominating.
