When the themes for Spirit Week came out, a sense of confusion was felt throughout the school. While Fear the Paw or as some would call it, “just another Thursday”, may not be the most favorited amongst the student body, it leaves a relaxing day for the majority of pupils to think about what outfit they will be wearing for the last day of spirit week, Senior Citizen Day, and before the pep rally ahead.
Despite its traditional theme, the mix of Pep Rally coinciding with wearing spirit shirts adds to the showing of jaguar pride. Going into the closet and picking out the many possible spirit shirts throughout years of clubs and classes, adds to the nostalgia of what high school is all about. So as much as Day 4 isn’t as talked about by students as the other days, spirit shirts and faces covered in colorfully painted dots, paws, and handprints embody the true meaning of spirit week.
