It is that time of year, the time of love and happiness for all the couples around the world. Valentine’s day is a holiday of love and joy. This is the time of year for you to show how much you love that special someone, as well as spend time with them. And during this special time, you can binge-watch romantic movies or shows with your loved ones. So here are the top 4 movies to watch on Valentine’s Day:

 Love, Romance, and Chocolate

The first movie you could watch during the lovely time of year is Love, Romance, and Chocolate. This movie was recommended by Sophomore Kaya Pierre, she had stated, “This movie was based in Belgium and it’s the place to find love and who doesn’t love chocolate when chocolate is a symbol of love in all types of relationships. And it is about an American chocolatier who enters a contest to come to the chocolatier for the royal family of Belgium. While she’s concentrating on winning the contest, the announcement superintendent in charge of contest hype ends up winning her heart.”  As you can see, this movie would be great for anyone who loves a great romantic movie that starts platonically and ends with a romantic relationship.

The Kissing Booth

Another great movie to watch is The Kissing Booth, which was recommended by Sophomore Tracey Jean-Louis. Tracey describes the movie as, “romantic, as well as delightful to watch” she also states what it is about, “A girl named Elle Evans, a pretty blonde girl who has never kissed anyone and in high school, had decided to run a kissing booth.  She has a secret crush on Noah, but the problem is that Noah is the brother of her best friend Lee, and In Elle and Lee’s rule book there’s rule number 9 which states that you can’t date each other siblings or catch feelings. This had troubled Elle, but she did not let that stop her. In the end, the movie was wonderful, and I highly recommend everyone to watch it.”

To All the Boys I Loved Before

Another great movie to watch is To All the Boys I Loved Before, recommended by Sophomore Maddison Martone,  “A romance movie I recommend is all the boys I’ve loved before. This movie can be found on Netflix and is sort of like a hopeless romance movie. She writes five letters to her crushes and they accidentally end up in the hands of the people they are about. It is the perfect cheesy romance to watch on valentine’s day!” This movie is full of romance as well as excitement, it is mainly based on a teenage girl whose high school life turned upside down right before her eyes. This teen romance will knock you off of your feet and is recommended for all, so get ready to watch this movie with your loved one.

Crazy Rich Asians

The last great movie was recommended by one of the fellow teachers here at PPCHS, Mr.Sanchez,  “There are two movies that resonate with me whenever I think of a love film. The first movie I would recommend is Crazy Rich Asians. It’s a funny romantic comedy that highlights culture with a positive message. It represents people and their heritage which is something I believe is important to show. Love, Simon is the second film I recommend. It’s a romantic drama that tells a story of a teenager trying to figure out his identity. Throughout the movie, the lead character Simon struggles to accept himself but with the support of his family, friends, and love interest, Simon was able to prove that anyone can overcome life challenges and find love along the way. The movie promotes the message that love is love and everyone is deserving of it no matter your personal preference.” These movies are perfect for you to watch on Valentine’s Day and will lighten your day.
