As some of you may already know, and to some of your anticipation, famous OVO rapper Drake has announced the upcoming release of his sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy.

Drake has already been dropping details and subtle hints regarding the release of his new album, letting fans know that they can expect the long awaited project to drop sometime this month.

The rapper gave one of his first hints at the new album in an Instagram post he shared with the world in late April. “DARK LANE DEMO TAPES out at midnight…also my 6th STUDIO ALBUM DROPPING SUMMER 2020!!!” Drake captioned the post, confirming his excitement for the new project, while also building up the excitement of his fans which we can see from the post’s comment section. “We been inside too long… thank God it’s Drizzy Szn,” read one of the comments, accompanied by many fire emojis.

Drake’s tease of “SUMMER 2020” from his Instagram post draws fans to believe that they can expect Certified Lover Boy to drop very soon, before the 22nd of this month, which marks the official end of summer.

In the meantime, the Toronto rapper gave his fans a single that was released on all platforms on August 14th. The song titled “Laugh Now Cry Later,” featuring rapper Lil Durk, is the lead single off the album.

In May, Drake also made an appearance on rapper Lil Wayne’s Young Money Radio, where he made the claim that he would work with the fellow rapper on new music in the future. With this, fans could possibly expect a feature from Lil Wayne on the album as well.

After the single “Laugh Now Cry Later” had dropped, Drake made another Instagram post which this time gave away the title of his soon to be expected album.

Drake fans still have yet to see the entire tracklist for Certified Lover Boy, however in February this year, while court side at a Toronto Raptors Game, the rapper stated that this album will be shorter than his previous studio album Scorpion. “This album I’ll probably make it a more realistic offering, something more concise”, he said, “It can be 10, 11 songs…16”.

When asked his feelings on Drake’s imminent release of Certified Lover Boy, junior Eric Hobson says, “I’m definitely excited for his new album. I feel like Drake’s always been an extremely influential rapper and his albums always bring heat to the table. Even his earlier albums continue to get love from his fans, and I think he’s really going to turn heads with this one like he did when he made Views.”

In addition to his single that had been previously released, a few unreleased songs had been leaked from Drake’s upcoming album as well. One of these include “Intoxicated”, an unfinished song, along with “Lie to Me”, another reported track.

This reveal leaves the rest up to our imaginations, allowing us to do nothing but sit and wait patiently for the promised Certified Lover Boy to drop into our laps, and then pleasantly into our ears.
